Stella McCartney to release menswear line
The Designer's First Ever Menswear Collection Is Due To Debut This Fall
In an exciting expansion, men will be donning Stella McCartney’s effortless and ethical designs for the first time this fall. The British designer, renowned for both aspiration and wearability, has focused exclusively on womenswear up until now, so today’s announcement of a menswear line has triggered a frenzy of anticipation. The debut collection will be presented alongside her Womenswear Resort ’17, named “Spring” on November 10 in London.
A press release has hinted the collection will “take a modern approach to menswear, encouraging seasonal wardrobing, while adhering to the brand’s responsible and sustainable ethics.” McCartney herself has also spoken openly about her initiatives, claiming “I want to deliver to men what I deliver to women… A wardrobe, a choice and effortless modern clothes.”
With each collection, Stella McCartney sharpens feminine attire with a masculine, tailored edge. We’re curious to see how the designer is planning to translate this approach into menswear, or rather, if she’s headed down a fresh avenue altogether. Unlike her womenswear line, her premiere season of menswear will not be seasoned, instead rumored to be named Collection One and Two. What's more, in another commercial-friendly move, buyers will be able to browse designs and place order months before they are officially released to the press. Keep you eyes peeled for more details on McCartney's new venture in the coming months.
